The Name of the Rose
Umberto Eco, Harcourt Inc., 1983
This altered book has a paper rose sculpted cover.  It was constructed by a combination of folding and the coptic stitch.  The internal book has a soft spine with several signatures.
The Name of the Rose is a puzzling tale of the journey to solve a mysterious murder in the labyrinths of a 14th century Italian abbey.  At the heart of the mystery is a deeper truth to be uncovered in a lost and hidden work by Aristotle. 2006
